BERKELEY COLLECTION
From its original suite of luxury watches, Backes & Strauss’ square-shaped Berkeley collection is inspired by one of London’s great squares, Berkeley Square: a graceful garden in the heart of the elegant bustling Mayfair. Originally laid out in the 18th century by Palladian master and landscape architect William Kent, Berkeley Square's picturesque plane trees were planted in 1789, the year Backes & Strauss began trading. Alluding to the company’s dual craftsmanship in diamonds and watchmaking, each Berkeley timepiece is set with at least one diamond in the crown, known as the “Jewel in the Crown”.
